Another night in El

I have known Chef Phillip Foss for nearly a decade. I took a job working for him as a bus boy in 2011 when he was at the Palmer House Hilton’s restaurant Lockwood. It was a step down in the industry as I had been a server for years, but I could tell that he was something special and the only job they were looking for was a busboy.

Through all that time and all the ups and downs that have come since then I can say he is without doubt one of the most inspiring and creative chefs around, not only in Chicago, but across the country. His flagship El Ideas is a mainstay in the culinary world and has earned its reputation within the industry as a go to for those in the know. It has been a pleasure to see him grow and expand into the chef I knew he was all those years back at Lockwood. I have been shooting with him for three years now and the images are always top notch, but then again its not hard to produce amazing work when you work with the most talented people.
